Penny's Pet Care was founded in Rugby in 2021 with one clear aim: to give local pets the kind of attentive, personalised care they'd receive at home — or better. We work with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and a range of small animals across Rugby and the surrounding villages, building long-term relationships with the pets and families we serve.

We're fully insured, DBS checked, and first-aid trained — because peace of mind matters as much as the care itself. But beyond the credentials, what sets us apart is the team behind the business. Every member of our team has been chosen not just for their skills, but for their genuine love of animals.

Meet Penny - The Heart Behind the Care

A lifelong love of animals — and the career to prove it.

About Penny, the founder of Penny's Pet Care Rugby, offering dog walking, dog sitting, dog boarding.

Penny's passion for animals started in childhood — a home full of dogs, cats, bunnies, ducks, chickens, and RSPCA foster dogs. From a young age she had a natural gift for connecting with animals, which led her to work at a local stable as a teenager, where she even rescued a neglected horse. Her boss was so impressed he bought the horse for her.

When it came to a career, Penny put family first — graduating twice, first in art and theatre, then nursing — a profession she gave twenty years to, while quietly running a small animal sanctuary on the side. When family life shifted, she brought everything together and founded Penny's Pet Care in 2021.

Today she shares her home with two rescue dogs, Bruno Mars and Harry Styles, and a blind rescue goldfish called Ketchup. Some things never change.

Jazmine works closely with Penny on dog boarding and doggy day care, ensuring every visiting dog feels settled, stimulated, and well looked after.
